- What the design means
- From the front the statue seems to vanish, "because Satoshi disappeared into nothing many years ago, and nobody knows his identity" (Pannoni). It was billed as Italy's first monument to Bitcoin and Satoshi, part of a plan to make Fornelli the "first Bitcoin village": 24 shops accepted bitcoin at the launch, in a village of about 1,800 residents.Sources: ANSA (9 May 2025) Comune di Fornelli

🧭 Visiting
Getting there

Exact spot
In Piazza Umberto I, Fornelli (province of Isernia, Molise), installed at the belvedere (Comune di Fornelli; ANSA). Pin: 41.60700, 14.14047 (OpenStreetMap node 12804537475).
Photo tip
This is not a Satoshigallery piece. It's by local crypto-artist Mattia Pannoni, but it has a similar effect: seen from the front, it seems to disappear (ANSA, quoting the artist). Take one frontal shot and one side shot to show it.
Generic tip (not from a source): the belvedere puts open sky behind the statue, which makes the see-through effect easier to read.
Hours & access
Outdoors in a public square. No hours are published. It should be viewable at any time, but that is our assumption and is unverified.
