Often called the world’s first public Bitcoin monument. Large Corten steel structure featuring the Bitcoin “B” symbol (about 3 tonnes). Located on a roundabout near the city center. Linked to Slovenia’s early crypto scene (built by the Municipality of Kranj with support from 3fs and Bitstamp).

- What the design means
- A monument to blockchain technology: a circular rim around a B symbol, which the municipality says stands for blockchain technology rather than the cryptocurrency itself. Placing it in a roundabout symbolizes decentralized connections: "a nexus" with many paths, not a central point.Sources: RTV Slovenija

🧭 Visiting
Getting there
From OpenStreetMap (straight-line distances; routes and timetables unverified): Kranj bus station (Avtobusna postaja Kranj) is about 260 m away, and Kranj railway station (Železniška postaja Kranj) about 1.1 km.
Parking: OpenStreetMap shows a paid surface car park about 30 m from the roundabout.
Exact spot
In the roundabout in front of the Kranj courthouse (RTV Slovenija). OpenStreetMap names it "Bitcoin krožišče" (Bitcoin roundabout), and the District Court (Okrožno sodišče v Kranju) is about 40 m away. Pin: 46.24636, 14.35781 (OpenStreetMap node 5903169142).
Photo tip
This isn't a see-through design. RTV Slovenija notes that the monument can best be seen from the air.
Generic tip (not from a source): shoot diagonally from a sidewalk corner so the tilted ring and the B symbol both read, and wait for a gap in traffic.
Hours & access
It sits in an active traffic circle, so view it from the surrounding sidewalks and don't walk into the roundabout. As a street monument it has no opening hours.
